Overview
Todd Williamson is a Los Angeles–based abstract painter whose work explores the tension between stillness and movement through meticulously layered surfaces and musical linear motifs. A recipient of the prestigious 2019 Pollock Prize for Creativity and multiple Pollock-Krasner Foundation grants, Williamson has exhibited in over 200 shows worldwide, including being selected as an Official Exhibition for the 58th Venice Biennale (Processional) 2019, museum exhibitions include at MOAH Lancaster, NUMA Museum Los Gatos, PAN Museum Naples, Pio Monte della Misericordia, and MAC Museum Art & Cars, and institutional exhibitions across Europe and the U.S. He has been recognized by cultural leaders such as the Prime Ministers of Hesse and Bavaria for his international impact. A long-time advocate for the arts, Williamson served on the West Hollywood Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission for 11 years, supporting public art and artist-led initiatives in the city and leading the way to the city's first Artist Grant. His practice continues to merge visual art with sound, light, and immersive experience, reflecting a deep commitment to both artistic innovation and civic engagement.
